Liesel K. Stanhope is of counsel to the firm, a veteran, and a persistent advocate for her clients. Prior to her legal career, Liesel graduated from Duke University and commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy. After qualifying as Surface Warfare Officer on the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG-62), she graduated from Navy Nuclear Power Training Program in the top 15% of her class. As a Lieutenant she served as the division officer of Reactor Controls Division and served on the Reactor Training Team on the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75).
She attended law school at Washington College of Law at American University where she graduated magna cum laude. Subsequently she passed the Connecticut Bar. Since law school she has worked as a public interest attorney successfully representing veterans claiming their benefits from Department of Veterans Affairs.
