Dawn Gile practices in the field of corporate law, with a primary focus on reviewing and negotiating confidentiality agreements and advising clients on related commercial matters. Before joining SRD Legal, Dawn spent 15 years practicing litigation, representing and advising companies in business disputes and other complex litigation. That experience gives her a practical, strategic perspective that informs her transactional work by helping clients identify potential issues early, mitigate risk, and achieve their business objectives efficiently.

In addition to her legal practice, Dawn serves as a Maryland State Senator representing Maryland’s 33rd Legislative District. Elected in 2022, she serves on the Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over economic development, financial institutions, healthcare, insurance, labor, technology (including artificial intelligence), and more. She applies her legal and regulatory experience to advance pragmatic legislation focused on reducing prescription drug costs, strengthening consumer protections, and supporting veterans and military families. Notably, she was the primary Senate sponsor of the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act.

A longtime advocate for service members and their families, Dawn previously served as President of Military Spouse JD Network, where she led national efforts to expand professional licensing mobility and improve access to pro bono legal services for military families.

Dawn earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in psychology, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Rockford University. She lives in Maryland with her husband, a retired U.S. Army veteran, and their three daughters.
